NextDecade is a clean energy infrastructure company accelerating the path to a net-zero future. Through its wholly owned subsidiaries Rio Grande LNG and NEXT Carbon Solutions, NextDecade is developing a 27 mtpa LNG export project in South Texas along with one of the largest carbon capture and storage projects in North America.

The Rio Grande LNG project is expected to be the largest and greenest U.S. LNG export solution linking the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford Shale natural gas to the global LNG market. In addition, NEXT Carbon Solutions is working with third-party customers around the world to lower the cost of carbon capture and storage and reduce CO2 emissions at their customers’ industrial-scale facilities.

In October 2019, Mubadala purchased US$65 million of NextDecade’s common stock in a combination of private placement and private transaction. Mubadala’s investment further strengthens NextDecade’s capital position as the company continues to develop its Rio Grande LNG and NEXT Carbon Solutions projects. As part of its investment in NextDecade, Mubadala received one seat on NextDecade’s board of directors.
