CEPSA’s Exploration and Production business is responsible for the exploration, development and production of crude oil, natural gas – both onshore and offshore. The company has E&P presence in Spain, South America, South-East Asia, the Middle East and African region; and is a sector leader in Algeria and Colombia.

As operators of three Spanish refineries, Cepsa accounts for about 40% of the country’s refining capacity, establishing it as the leading European refiner. All 3 refineries operate to the highest level of environmental, safety and operating standards. In 2018/2019 alone, the company distilled 21.6 million tons of crude.

Cepsa’s commercial activity is focused on fuel sales and services at its 1,786 modern service stations throughout Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibralter. The company has an extensive national and international network of agents and distributors to market its products across the world including marketing liquified petroleum gases, asphalts and lubricants.

The company’s Petrochemicals activity is highly integrated with the refining business, resulting in products that create value addition. CEPSA has a significant presence in Spain and is strengthening its operations in markets where it is a global leader such as production of linear alkylbenzene (LAB), the raw material used to manufacture biodegradable detergents, or phenol, used to produce next generation plastics. Besides Spain, Cepsa also has chemical production facilities in Canada, Brazil, Germany, China, Nigeria and Indonesia.
